Do I need to understand accounting?
No accounting qualification required. Start with familiar jobs: adding receipts, creating invoices and checking your bank activity. Cuebooks explains the next step in everyday language. If your situation needs an accountant, we will say so.
Can I add a folder of invoices or receipts?
Yes. Choose a folder or select up to 10 PDF, JPG or PNG files at a time, with a maximum of 15 MiB per file. Keep each invoice or receipt in its own file. You see progress for each upload. Where automatic reading is enabled, review the extracted details; otherwise enter them yourself. You confirm the purchase before it is added to your accounts.
Will it connect to my bank or file my tax return?
Not in this pre-release version. You can import supported bank statement files and prepare draft accounting information. Live bank feeds, HMRC submissions and Companies House filing are not available yet. Do not use a draft as proof that anything has been filed.
Does AI make the decisions?
No. Where available, AI can suggest a category for a purchase. Suggestions can be wrong: you review and confirm the result. You can choose a category yourself, and a suggestion does not post an accounting entry on its own.
Is Cuebooks ready to replace my current accounts system?
Not yet. Early access is for trying the product and helping us improve it. Start with sample data, keep your existing records and filing arrangements, and check any real information independently. We are not currently offering a paid subscription through this site.
